The plot was also.....weak. |

DR Who is entertainment, it's not "Newsnight" or "Panorama", don't be such a bunch of Scrooge's !
Relax a little, the world doesn't end tomorrow |

I'm chilled :o) yet I see no harm in a little enthusiastic banter. |

It was fun, but there is still an expectation of good consistent story lines. I was disappointed that the "Astrid" anagram didn't seem to have any significance, but maybe we are on the start of a story-arc for next season? The best Christmas special (IMO) is still the first.
I like proper baddies, not tawdry fraudsters (although George Costigan was wonderfully hammy in the role).
It was a bit Poseidon Adventure, wasn't it? I thought of the Gene Hackman character when we saw the sacrifice from Astrid and the other female character. |

Sponsor | rafcop1976 | Dec 28, 2007 2:25pm | | There were so many things that annoyed me in this special. The 'resurrection' with the two angel/robots was decidedly corny, the forklift struggling to push the motorised wheelchair was ridiculous. As I said in my first post the story had so much promise at the start and then it just degenerated about halfway through. As eth said a bit Poseidon Adventure with a religious element thrown in for good measure with self sacrifice and resurrection. |

Still Torchwood will soon be back, let's hope that is better. |
